How Lost Craft Built a Brand in Their Hometown — Podcasts (2022)
How do you make your product stand out in a crowded market?
That’s the exact question Balraj Jutla and Shehan De Silva asked themselves seven years ago when founding their craft beer company, Lost Craft.
Their answer? Rely entirely on their love for Ontario, Canada and ship their beer directly to their customers.
To do this, Balraj and Shehan held forums in their community and connected with local shops and bars to better understand what business owners and residents wanted from local craft breweries.

“We always choose beers that are easy to drink and approachable,” says Balraj. “So we want to bring that style of beer to market, a product that everyone can enjoy.”
Both also work with local brewers when perfecting their products.
“It’s about staying true to the origin of the product (and) where it came from, because each of our products actually has a unique story,” Balraj said.
Just like Lost Craft customers. Balraj says his company prioritizes hearing feedback from people who buy their beer in person and online and tailoring it accordingly.
